“So Double It's Triple”
Status: Our Collection
This massive Double IPA is big enough to be called a Triple IPA. We had to fill the mash tun with grain three times to get enough sugar into this bad boy. The repeated brewing to get it right nearly killed both Jerry and Adam, but resulted in one potent beer. The final gravity is the same as the original gravity on So Single It’s Half. Lots and lots of malt was used to build enough backbone to hold up the true feature: the hops. Bittered with Zythos and flavored and dry-hopped with Falconer’s Flight, the bitterness is enough to flatten even the most seasoned hophead. We used nearly 4 pounds of hops per barrel of beer! The prominent flavors are fruits of all kinds (tropical, citrus, apple, cherry, etc.), a little pine-y touch, and hints of toffee and caramel. The high alcohol is also very noticeable. There is a good burn to accompany the smoothness. Not for the meek. You have been warned!
